An agreement on seat-sharing has nearly been reached among the allies within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Maharashtra, with an official announcement expected today. It is pertinent to mention that Maharashtra commands 48 Lok Sabha seats. Under the NDA-led alliance, the BJP is poised to contest elections on 28 seats.
Additionally, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) will contest 14 seats, while 5 seats will be left for the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). The Nationalist Social Party is also set to receive one seat in Parbhani. In the event that the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is allocated a seat, either Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) or BJP will face a loss of one seat.
