In a conversation with 'Aaj Tak', Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nandgiri, affectionately known as 'Tina Maa', unfolds these mystic secrets.
According to Kaushalya Nandgiri, the Kinnar Akhara operates similarly to other Akharas, following a unified sannyas initiation process. Aspirants undergo a moral and ideological examination, simultaneously ensuring their current allegiance to their guru and verifying their familial detachments.
Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nandgiri states that both men and women are led towards renouncement in the Kinnar Akhara. It's imperative to relinquish worldly attachments, demanding a complete disassociation from family if not already done. The person’s devotion to Sanatan Dharma is thoroughly assessed before bestowing sannyas.
In the words of Kaushalya Nandgiri, 18 pinda dan rituals have been conducted in their midst. Of these, four individuals elevated to Mahamandaleshwar, and six succeeded as Shrimant holders. Each position is systematically recorded, granting the Kinnar Akhara recognition amidst the acknowledged 13 Akharas.
