On Saturday, in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, security forces executed a significant operation, eliminating four armed Naxalites in a fierce encounter. Among the deceased were one male and three female Naxalites. This intense clash unfolded in the hilly terrains of Pachama Dadar within the Bitli police station area.
Special DG Naxal Pankaj Srivastava disclosed that a cache of weapons was recovered from the site, including a rocket launcher, hand grenades, a .315 bore rifle, and a substantial amount of ammunition. However, some Naxalites managed to escape during the confrontation, prompting a rigorous ongoing search operation to capture them.
Despite heavy rains, the security forces' operation perseveres intermittently. This stands as the most significant Naxal encounter in Madhya Pradesh, marking a notable increase in the number of neutralized Naxalites reaching double digits this year. Previously, the maximum count within any year was six; nonetheless, this year has already surpassed that count within five months.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav confirmed the incident, marking it as a pivotal part of the state's mission to eradicate Naxalism by 2026. He mentioned that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the state government continuously strives to eliminate Naxalism.
In recognition of the triumph, the Chief Minister announced rewards for the involved police officers. He emphasized that the operation reflects the state's unwavering drive against Naxalism.
