In recent years, there have been many positive shifts in societal attitudes towards girls. However, there still exist individuals who perceive daughters as burdens. This mentality persists, leading to reports of girls being killed shortly after birth. Aditya Singh, the Collector of Harda district in Madhya Pradesh, has taken essential steps to protect girls and change people's perspectives.

Collector Aditya Singh from Harda district has initiated the Reva Shakti Scheme to balance the sex ratio in the district. Since assuming his position, Collector Aditya Pratap Singh has identified the troubling situation regarding the gender ratio. Considering this issue, the Reva Shakti Scheme is being launched, which will be formally introduced on January 22nd on the tenth anniversary of the Save Daughters campaign.

What is the Reva Shakti Scheme?

Under the Reva Shakti Scheme, parents who have only one or two daughters will be identified and awarded a 'Kirti Card', complete with a barcode. This card can be used at shops, hospitals, and other places to access exclusive discounts. To date, 638 parents have been identified, and cards are being prepared for them.

Kirti Corners in Government Offices

Beyond this, Kirti Cardholders will receive priority in the Collector's Office and other government departments. 'Kirti Corners' will be established in government offices, ensuring these cardholders do not have to wait in long lines. Officials will address their concerns promptly, giving them precedence in public hearings.

This initiative could prove revolutionary in improving the gender ratio for girls in Harda district. Currently, the sex ratio in Madhya Pradesh stands at 933, whereas in Harda district, it is only 891. Collector Aditya Pratap Singh believes this scheme will promote a more positive outlook towards girls and secure them a special place in society.
