In the Bhikangaon police station area of Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, 19-year-old Sonam unexpectedly collapsed and died during a Garba dance. The tragic event took place about 40 kilometers from Khargone district headquarters, within the Singaji Temple premises. Sonam was dancing Garba with her husband, Krishnapal, before the idol of Goddess Durga.
Reports indicate that Sonam was married to Krishnapal earlier this year in May. The couple was joyfully dancing together when the incident occurred. At the moment, the traditional song 'Mere Dholna' was being played, and Sonam suddenly fell to the ground while dancing.
Initially, those present at the scene mistook the fall for a light moment or dramatic inclination, with some even covering their mouths to laugh. When Sonam did not get up, panic ensued. Her husband, Krishnapal, hurriedly tried to help her, but to no avail. Others also rushed forward to provide assistance, but unfortunately, Sonam had already passed away.

Confirming the incident, police dispatched the body for a post-mortem and initiated investigations. The administration later assisted in managing the crowd and controlling the situation. Sonam's unexpected death has cast a shadow of grief over her family. Villagers recount that she was leading a happy life with her husband just months after marriage. This heart-wrenching incident has not only devastated the family but also left the local community and the temple's devotees in shock. Locals are extending their condolences to the family, deeply affected by the incident.
