A woman in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, became a victim of online fraud. She fell into the cyber fraud trap while trying to make her daughter a child model and to place her daughter's photo in advertisements. She ended up paying Rs. 2 lakhs to the online fraudsters. Upon realizing the fraud, she filed an FIR at Indiranagar Police Station. The police are investigating the case.
As per information, Khushboo Bisht, a resident of Sugamau East, Indiranagar, created a Telegram ID in her daughter Toshika's name. During this time, she came into contact with a young woman named Kiara on social media. On Kiara's suggestion, Khushboo deposited approximately Rs. 1.16 lakhs under the pretense of getting her daughter's photo placed in advertisements as a child model.

Deceived with promises of advertising and promotion
Later, another woman's contact number was provided, and under a scheme, Khushboo was told she needed to pay money to get children's photos used in advertisements and promotions as child models. Khushboo was deceived and ended up paying a total of Rs. 2.33 lakhs. After the payment, no work was provided, and the phone calls were not answered. Several attempts to call were made, but the number remained switched off. It was then Khushboo realized she had been swindled.
DCP comments on the case
DCP North Zone Vijay R Shankar stated that in the case of cyber fraud, the woman has lodged an official complaint, detailing the fraud. An FIR has been registered. The police, with the assistance of the cybercrime unit, are investigating the matter. The culprits will soon be arrested.
