The vehicle was suspended over an under-construction bridge
Last year, a similar astonishing accident was reported from Shahjahanpur, UP. There, a car was left hanging on an under-construction bridge. The vehicle occupants were trapped for an extended period, resulting in severe injuries for two. According to the car occupants, the lack of warning signs led to the accident. The injured young man lodged a complaint against the firm responsible for the construction.
'Numair's arm and mother's backbone fractured'
Numair Khan, hailing from the Aligarh district and accompanied by his mother and brother, was headed to Shahjahanpur when their car climbed atop an unfinished bridge around 7 a.m. near the village of Maruajhala Madhi on an under-construction state highway. This construction was overseen by 'Firm Shakuntala,' owned by Ramesh Singh.
The absence of signage and barriers around the mid-road bridge resulted in their vehicle ascending the under-construction bridge. In the mishap, Numair's arm and his mother Rehna's spine were fractured.
A PWD official addressed the matter
Rathin Sinha, PWD Xen, stated that the state highway is slated for widening, and the bridge's construction remained unfinished. There's a diversion before the bridge, marked with a board and a pile of soil. It's possible that the accident occurred due to fog. Meanwhile, Numair had filed a complaint against the firm's owner and several unidentified persons.
