- An important meeting also took place at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), summoning ambassadors from several countries. Ambassadors from Germany, Japan, Poland, the UK, and Russia, among others, arrived at the South Block MEA office. They were briefed about the Pahalgam terror attack in detail and informed about India's security concerns.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed the ambassadors for approximately 30 minutes. The Chinese ambassador, Zhu Feihong, was summoned to the MEA headquarters. According to information, senior MEA officials provided him with insights on potential terrorist organizations behind the attack, Pakistan's involvement, and actions taken by security agencies.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to Visit Basiran
On Friday, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will personally review the situation and visit the attack site at Basiran. He will assess security arrangements with military commanders and local officials and determine future strategies. This action by the army is considered a strong signal towards decisive action against terrorism.
Meanwhile, security agencies have intensified search operations in Pahalgam and surrounding areas. Initial investigations suggest the possibility of terrorists' infiltration from across the border and their local network. Agencies like NIA, IB, and military intelligence are deeply probing every aspect of the attack. By examining the weapons and materials retrieved from the scene, they aim to uncover the terrorists' sources and support systems.
