In an unprecedented move, the SC-ST Court of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, sentenced an accused to life imprisonment and a fine of INR 456,000 for deceptive religious conversion.
According to the victim, the accused disguised himself and coerced her into conversion, committing fraud. The perpetrator also deceived her out of cash and jewelry before his true identity and marital status were revealed, prompting her to seek justice.
