In an unprecedented move, the SC-ST Court of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, sentenced an accused to life imprisonment and a fine of INR 456,000 for deceptive religious conversion.

According to the victim, the accused disguised himself and coerced her into conversion, committing fraud. The perpetrator also deceived her out of cash and jewelry before his true identity and marital status were revealed, prompting her to seek justice.

Convicted of Forced Conversion under SC-ST Act

  The case under the SC-ST act was registered for forced conversion among other charges. Both parties presented their evidence in court, leading to the conviction and sentencing.

Defendant to Spend Life Behind Bars

The SC-ST court announced a landmark ruling, sentencing accused Anis to life imprisonment until death. The accused has been fined for various charges and has stated his intent to appeal in a higher court.
