Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar emphasized on Wednesday that the executive, legislature, and judiciary aren't adversarial towards each other and must function together in a harmonious balance.

He made these comments in the Rajya Sabha, noting that should the NJAC system not have been struck down by the Supreme Court, the circumstances might have turned out differently.

On Tuesday, amidst discussions on the NJAC, the issue surfaced with controversies surrounding cash found at Justice Yashwant Verma's New Delhi home.

Dhankar convened a meeting with leaders from various political parties to deliberate on the repercussions and strategies ahead concerning this controversy.

On Wednesday evening at 4:30 PM, Jagdeep Dhankar is hosting a multi-party meeting regarding the incident.

Dhankar stated, "I wish to inform the house that yesterday we had a very productive discussion on this matter which stirs public agitation."

In that meeting, key political figures like House Leader and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge were present along with other party leaders.

Jagdeep Dhankar remarked, "Without delving into details, the deliberations were consensual, cooperative, and reflected concern. The issue doesn't lie between institutions themselves. It's not a battle between the executive, legislature, or judiciary."

The Vice President highlighted that, "All institutions in the nation must endeavor together, with checks and balances in place aimed towards a commonsensical good."

He noted the issue is serious and has become a topic of discussion across all governance fields.

He continued, "Undoubtedly, this matter holds gravity. Together, we (the Rajya Sabha Chairman, Opposition Leader, House Leader) observed the development closely. Unprecedentedly, the Chief Justice of India made a public initiative to bring everything into the public domain. Following a suggestion from the Opposition Leader and agreement from the House Leader, I've scheduled a meeting with the house leaders this afternoon at 4:30 PM, in accordance with the Opposition Leader's recommendation and House Leader's agreement, which relevant parties have been informed of."

The Vice President underscored that the legislature and judiciary operate optimally when excelling dynamically within their domains. Jagdeep Dhankar asserted, expressing reluctance for judgment on any specific issue, that what's widely perceived in the country is the Supreme Court sharing comprehensive material extensively with people.
