The terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba suffered a significant blow in Pakistan with the neutralization of the most wanted terrorist, Abu Katal. This event took place on Saturday night at 8 PM. Abu Katal was responsible for orchestrating numerous major attacks in India and was declared wanted by the NIA. This terrorist had become a major threat to various security agencies including the army.

Abu Katal was notably close to Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks which resulted in the death of 166 people during the 26/11 terror strike led by ten Pakistani terrorists on multiple locations in Mumbai. This incident severely strained relations between Pakistan and India, bringing them to the brink of war.

Hafiz Saeed entrusted Abu with orchestrating significant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, appointing him as Lashkar’s chief operational commander. Abu received direct orders from Hafiz Saeed to execute large-scale assaults in Kashmir.

Notably, on June 9th, while pilgrims were returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked their bus. Abu Katal was identified as one of the masterminds behind the attack, along with several other significant assaults in Kashmir. NIA held Abu Katal responsible for the 2023 Rajouri attack.
