The Kolkata High Court has delivered a significant blow to the West Bengal Police in the confrontation between the Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The High Court, in a stern admonition, has directed the state police to refrain from arresting NIA officials for the time being. The court established that the Bengal police will not arrest NIA officials until the next hearing.

The court also specified that if the West Bengal Police intends to question NIA officials, they must do so via video conferencing and must issue a notification at least 72 hours in advance. The subsequent hearing in this case is scheduled for April 29.

Misleading Information in FIR

During the hearing on Wednesday, the Kolkata High Court critiqued the Bengal Police severely. The court highlighted that the FIR filed against NIA officials contains several inaccuracies. The court declared in its order, 'The NIA conducted their raids in accordance with the law.'

Court Questions Inclusion of Section 325

There is no mention of serious injury in the countering FIR filed by the wife of one of the arrested suspects. It is also startling that the medical report of Manobrata Jana lacks any mention of serious injury, yet the NIA officials were charged under Section 325? The High Court grilled the Bengal Police extensively during the hearing.
