In an alarming incident highlighting the dark underbelly of examination fraud, Kerala's cyber police have lodged a case on Thursday following an announcement on social media that the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) question papers and answer keys were up for sale.

This case comes at a time when the nation is already grappling with leaks of various exam papers, including NEET, and ongoing investigations by the CBI into some of these cases.

It is imperative to note that for medical graduates from abroad, clearing the FMGE conducted by the National Examination Board is essential to practice in India.

The state police spokesperson reported that the City Cyber Crime Police in Thiruvananthapuram have filed a case against groups advertising the sale of question papers for the July 6th exam on Telegram groups.

The spokesperson elaborated that the case falls under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act of 2024, marking it as the first of its kind in the state. As part of efforts to detect such fraud, the police's cyber division has initiated round-the-clock cyber patrols on social media platforms, including various Telegram channels.
