A gruesome murder scene has unfolded in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. A man and a woman were brutally murdered, and afterwards, their bodies were thrown into a water-filled field. These events culminated in the recovery of their bodies on June 30. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with this crime, both accused of attempting to assault the victim, leading to the murder. They are currently being interrogated by the police.
The incident reportedly took place in Gauhani village, within the Charwa police station jurisdiction. The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Gudiya Devi and 42-year-old Gorelal. They were relatives and had grown close to each other recently. It was said that they shared a romantic relationship. Gudiya, separated from her husband, had been living with her parents, while Gorelal was also estranged from his wife. Their relationship was a topic of discussion in the village.

SP Rajesh Kumar revealed that during the police investigation, it was discovered that on the day of the crime, Gudiya and Gorelal were drinking alcohol with two young men from the village, Virendra and Shiv Babu. They purchased three bags of local liquor from a nearby shop and began drinking at the edge of a nearby field. During this time, the suspects attempted to establish forced physical relations with Gudiya, to which Gorelal objected strongly.
This disagreement escalated into a violent conflict. Following an argument, the suspects brutally beat Gorelal. In a shocking turn, Gudiya Devi was struck repeatedly on the head with an iron rod. As Gorelal attempted to escape, the suspects pursued and also killed him with the same iron rod. After the murder, they dragged the bodies and disposed of them in a nearby water-filled field, then fled the scene.
The revelation of this double homicide came from something seemingly insignificant. The police found a tractor key near the crime scene, which led them to Virendra of Malaka village. He was arrested on Wednesday morning after a brief encounter. The other suspect, Shiv Babu, who operates the village head's tractor, was also taken into custody. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to their crime.
Based on their information, the iron rod used in the murder was recovered from nearby bushes. Both suspects have been presented in court and sent to jail. This act was not merely a murder but a heinous crime that crosses the limits of humanity. Two lives were brutally taken away simply for resisting a vile act. A rigorous legal procedure has been initiated by the police, taking this case with utmost seriousness.
