Elon Musk's electric car company, Tesla, has finally entered the Indian market after a long wait. Yesterday, Tesla officially inaugurated its first showroom at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Along with this, the company launched its first car, the 'Model Y'. Known worldwide for its performance and technology, this electric car is priced starting at 59.89 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).
Tesla India has started bookings for this car in three cities - Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram. Based on the state registrations, there are also differences in the car prices. The Tesla Model Y is cheaper in Delhi compared to Mumbai, although its on-road price in Gurugram is even higher. This car comes with all-black and black-and-white interior options. Firstly, know that the Tesla Model Y is offered in two variants. The base model is called Rear Wheel Drive (RWD), and the higher variant is the Long-Range Rear Wheel Drive (LR-RWD). These two variants differ significantly in battery pack and driving range, with the RWD variant delivering a range of 500 km on a single charge and the long-range version offering 622 km. The car comes in a total of six exterior and two interior color options.
Because this car comes in many different exterior color options, customers will have to pay a higher price for every color except Stealth Gray. Prices, ranging from a minimum of 95,000 rupees for Pearl White to about 185,000 rupees for Ultra Red. The car is available in Stealth Gray, Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, Quick-Silver, and Ultra Red body colors. Additionally, the cabin also comes in two color options (all-black and black-and-white), affecting the pricing.

In Delhi, the entry-level RWD (Stealth Gray color) variant's ex-showroom price is 59,89,000 rupees. Its on-road price becomes 61,06,690 rupees, including 2,92,818 rupees GST, 59,890 rupees TCS, 50,000 rupees administration and service charge, an estimated road tax of 7,000 rupees, and 800 rupees for Fastag. If you choose any other body or interior color, this price will change.
On-Road Price of Tesla Model Y's Long-Range Color-Variant in Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram:
Every car enthusiast dreams of owning Tesla's first electric car, but its high price also makes the monthly installment (EMI) equally strong. However, this depends on how much down payment the customer makes and how much goes under the loan category. The company's official website provides a car auto loan calculator, showing that the EMI for the rear-wheel drive variant is 1,14,088 rupees, while the long-range variant requires a monthly payment of 1,29,184 rupees. It is important to note that this EMI applies when the customer makes a down payment of 6,10,669 rupees and the installment spans 60 months, with a 9% auto loan rate added.
The company has also started official bookings. Customers can visit the company's official website to book their desired color-variant version. They need to deposit 22,220 rupees as a booking amount. To book the car, users must enter basic information like name, address, and PAN card details on the website.
