Asaram, the convict undergoing a life sentence in Jodhpur Jail, Rajasthan for rape, continues to face hardships as Karvad Hospital has denied his medical treatment. Earlier, the Rajasthan High Court refused to grant permission for him to travel to Maharashtra for treatment. Now, the court has authorized his treatment at Jodhpur's Aarogyam private hospital, where Asaram will spend ten days under observation with Police Commissioner oversight.
The court has stated that Asaram may seek advice from two doctors at Madhav Bag. If there are any law and order issues during his treatment, he will be returned to jail immediately.
Permission for Ayurvedic treatment was denied earlier
Previously, Asaram had petitioned for permission to receive Ayurvedic treatment at Madhav Bag Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra, which the High Court had dismissed. In this regard, the Maharashtra Police had also cited security concerns to deny authorization for his treatment.
