As rumors of a political shift surface in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has, for the first time, openly addressed the speculation. He firmly stated that there is no discord within the state's Congress government and that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will see through his full term. Addressing the ongoing chatter around the 'November Revolution' and the increasing rumors of legislators' visits to Delhi, Shivakumar offered a detailed clarification on social media platform X.
Shivakumar expressed, “All 140 legislators are indeed mine. Forming a group is not in my nature. Both the Chief Minister and I have always pledged our complete loyalty to the decisions of the high command.”
Additionally, he clarified that a few legislators' visit to Delhi was not a signal of political pressure or factionalism but rather a normal political gesture to meet with the leadership ahead of a potential cabinet expansion.
He clearly stated, “The Chief Minister has decided to make changes in the cabinet. Becoming a minister is everyone's right, so legislators meeting with the leadership is perfectly normal. We cannot prevent anyone from doing so.”
Shivakumar pledged his unwavering support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, stating, “The CM has assured that he will complete the five-year term. I extend my best wishes to him, and together, we shall continue our work.”
Earlier this week, several legislators considered supporters of Shivakumar unexpectedly traveled to Delhi. This movement sparked intense speculation within political circles about a potential new attempt at leadership change in Karnataka, with some dubbing it the 'November Revolution'. In this context, Shivakumar's statement today emerged, categorically dismissing such claims.
