'D.K. Shivakumar to be Karnataka's Chief Minister in Two Months', says Congress Legislator Iqbal Hussain

Amidst speculation of leadership changes within Congress, Karnataka legislator Iqbal Hussain has made a significant statement. He clearly articulated, "Not 100, but 200% sure that D.K. Shivakumar will become the Chief Minister in the next two months."

This statement by Hussain indicates internal movement within the party. He emphasized that a transformation is essential if Congress aims to return to power in 2028. Hussain stressed, “To preserve our party and witness Congress back in power by 2028, a change is vital, requiring a proficient administrative team. The time is now.”

Lauding D.K. Shivakumar's 'remarkable contributions’ to the party, he stated that most legislators want him to be the Chief Minister now. Hussain asserted, 'Shivakumar has made an extraordinary impact on the party. This view is shared by most legislators. We must consider the future of our party and our destinies. Delaying this change could cost us.'

Previously, Hussain had made similar statements to which Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala responded. He remarked that if any legislator harbors genuine or imaginary concerns, they should be expressed within the party and government frameworks. Additionally, he reiterated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar have reinforced the state's financial health.
