Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge refrained from giving a direct answer about potential changes in the party's leadership within Karnataka. He cautioned media against speculating, emphasizing that leaders meeting him is 'no big deal.'

The Congress President mentioned, "We have replaced the Odisha chief and appointed a leader from the backward section. We've made changes in 3-4 places and might proceed with more in other states too."

Leadership to Change in 2-3 More States

Kharge added, "I specifically don't want to comment on Karnataka, as twisting and adding spice is what you (media) do. That's why nobody tells you the truth until we have made our decision. We're making one change after another and will bring leadership changes in 2-3 more states soon. Where positions are vacant, we'll appoint new officials."

Karnataka's Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi's recent meeting with him fueled speculations about KPCC leadership issues. He stated, "The media should display more responsibility in their speech. I am the AICC President, and meeting with leaders is not a big affair. You keep speculating; Jarkiholi came, Parameshwara arrived, Shivakumar approached, Siddaramaiah called. What's the big deal? Don't try to disturb the government. Everyone comes to meet me. He (Satish Jarkiholi) is ours and from Karnataka. Phone appointments are readily available. Can I refuse them?"

Criticism of the Media

Mocking the media, Kharge advised journalists not to fabricate stories whenever Karnataka Congress leaders like Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM Shivakumar, or Minister G. Parameshwara meet. Restraining from speculation can prevent government disturbance, as media often creates confusion, implicating leaders in their disputes.

Meanwhile, a minister critical of DK Shivakumar, Rajanna, met with AICC President Kharge on Wednesday. He had also met KC Venugopal on Tuesday, demanding a change of KPCC President (DK Shivakumar) and permission for SC councils. Notably, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has been under speculation for a replacement since 2020.
