"When asked about 'Bigg Boss' show, I simply pointed out that it has become more lenient compared to the past, a trend noticeable only in recent years. Now, there seems to be no boundary set to how much one can humiliate another or tarnish someone's character. Salman Khan, the show's host, urges contestants weekly to mind their language, reminding them it's a family show. Sometimes, things escalate to such low levels that we feel uncomfortable watching the show with our families—and this is what I meant by 'substandard.'"

"I did not label the channel, the broadcaster, or the host as 'substandard.' I hold immense respect for all of them and always will. After saying all this, I still stand by my words. I do not support character assassination on a public platform. Media is a means through which we can express ourselves and should not be the sole source of news."

Karan's Original Remark

According to the actor, the production team is lumping together TikTokers, influencers, and television celebrities into one category. Speaking to Bombay Times, Karan said, 'Where has your discernment gone? Calling people and treating them like celebrities, when initially you only invited actors to the show. Then you started bringing in 'commoners' to participate alongside TV stars, which greatly diminished the show's standards. Now you've begun to mix everything, and it's gotten so murky that being associated with it feels disrespectful.'

On the work front, Karan Patel is a well-recognized name in television, having been part of several major shows by Ekta Kapoor. His notable works include 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki', 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', 'Kesar', 'Kavyanjali', 'Kasturi', 'Kasamh Se', and 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein'. Karan has also participated in reality shows such as 'Nach Baliye 3' and 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 10'.
