According to sources, Karan holds a BBA and LLB degrees from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and also pursued a diploma in Business Management from Australia. Moreover, he currently presides as the president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association and also heads the Cooperative Rural Development Bank (Nawabganj, Gonda). It is noteworthy that in February 2024, Karan Bhushan, son of the former national president of the Indian Wrestling Association, Bhushan Sharan Singh, was elected as the president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association. His elder brother Prateek Bhushan Singh, is also a BJP legislator.

The patriarch, Bhushan Sharan Singh, has been a three-time consecutive MP, having represented Gonda, Bahraich, and Kaiserganj constituencies. Despite starting his political journey with the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bhushan’s loyalty shifted, leading him to win his first election from Kaiserganj with an SP ticket.

Back in 2008, Bhushan faced a suspension from BJP due to alleged cross-voting during a no-confidence motion against the UPA government. However, he made a comeback, contesting from Kaiserganj with an SP ticket in 2009 and winning. Prior to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bhushan returned to BJP and again succeeded in entering the parliament from Kaiserganj. He retained his seat in the 2019 elections under the BJP banner.
