In Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, the administration has demolished the illegal Shri Banke Bihari Cold Storage, owned by a relative of Nawab Singh, the former block chief accused of raping a minor. The Tirva Tehsil administration had already issued a notice to remove the illegal structure. When the illegal construction was not removed, the administration took bulldozer action.
The illegal cold storage was constructed in Balanapur village in Thathia area of Kannauj district. The cold storage, named Banke Bihari, was registered in the name of Arvind, son of Rajaram. The Tirva Tehsil administration had issued a notice giving seven days to remove the illegal construction. Nawab Singh's close relative had first occupied about 450 square meters of land and then constructed the illegal structure. Now, the administration has demolished it with a bulldozer.
Nawab Singh Yadav, the former block chief, is imprisoned in connection with the rape of a minor. It is reported that this cold storage belongs to one of Nawab Singh's close relatives. It is suspected that Nawab Singh's money was involved in its construction.
Nawab Singh Yadav lured a 15-year-old minor girl with a job offer and raped her. The girl's aunt brought her to Nawab Singh. The aunt had illicit relations with the former block chief. On the night of August 12, she brought her niece to Nawab Singh's college. Based on the niece's statement, the police made the aunt a co-accused in the case and arrested her.
