Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, received an emotional welcome on the second day of his tour in the tribal-dominated Harrai area of Chhindwara. Addressing a workers' conference in Chand, within Chhindwara's Chourai constituency, Nath showed glimpses of vulnerability.

At the assembly, the ex-Congress chief and MLA made an impassioned plea, 'If you desire to say goodbye to Kamal Nath, the choice is yours. I do not wish to impose myself upon you. The BJP might be campaigning aggressively, but there is no need to fear. Their display is nothing but a facade. They will provoke you, spread rumors that Kamal Nath is joining the BJP. Have I gone mad? Be cautious of these tactics. I am devoted to Chhindwara until my last breath. The plight of unemployed youth concerns me.

'Does BJP own the lease to Ram Mandir?'

While addressing the assembly of workers in Harrai on Wednesday, Kamal Nath lashed out at the BJP, questioning, 'Does BJP hold the lease to Ram Mandir? It belongs to you and me, built with your contributions. The court delivered its judgment and the government constructed it. Yet they scream the name of Ram. Shall we bring Lord Ram onto the political stage? We all worship Ram. Fourteen years ago, I commissioned a large Hanuman temple - not on government land, but on my own property. Are they to lecture us on religion? We are all religious, our culture is spiritual, and we adhere to our tradition of brotherhood. Let us preserve this.'

Speculations about joining BJP

There were speculations concerning Kamal Nath's future moves. However, his colleagues and senior party leaders like Digvijay Singh reassured that there was no plan for Kamal Nath to join the BJP. On Tuesday, Kamal Nath denounced these speculations as media creations, stressing that he never made such statements.
