The Janata Dal United (JDU)'s National Executive Committee convened today at Delhi's Constitution Club, presided over by the party chief and Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. During the meeting, resolutions related to the organization were passed, expressing full faith in Nitish Kumar's leadership. JDU has resolved to contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under his leadership through the organizational resolution.
Former Union Minister Ashwini Chaubey recently expressed his intention to contest the Bihar elections under the BJP's leadership within the NDA. The former MP from Buxar stated that BJP should come to power with a full majority and form the NDA government. He deferred the decision on the Chief Minister's position to the central leadership, saying - 'We will not tolerate imported goods in the party.' JDU leader KC Tyagi has since responded to Chaubey's statements.

Speaking with the media about the National Executive Committee's meeting, JDU Secretary-General and chief spokesperson KC Tyagi stated, 'The 2025 Bihar election will be fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. Prominent BJP leaders have also expressed this sentiment. We do not pay heed to minor BJP leaders' utterances. We acknowledge what PM Modi has said. PM Modi had stated that the Bihar election will be conducted under Nitish Kumar's leadership. There is no confusion on leadership in Bihar.'

Special Status or Special Package demanded for Bihar
The resolution passed in the National Executive Committee meeting congratulated Nitish Kumar for the party's victory in parliamentary elections and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the NDA's overall victory. The political resolution once again reiterated JDU's longstanding demand for granting Special Category Status or a special package to Bihar. Despite being annulled by the Patna High Court, the JDU National Executive approved the decision to expand the scope of reservations based on the caste survey report and has requested the central government to include it in the Ninth Schedule.
