In Jammu and Kashmir, the body of an abducted soldier has been discovered, found in the forests of Anantnag with multiple bullet wounds, confirmed sources.
The soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmed. Police sources confirm that several bullets hit him, but there are no knife wounds.
Earlier, a senior army official confirmed that a soldier from the 161 Territorial Army unit was kidnapped by attackers in Anantnag.
Initially, reports suggested the kidnapping of two soldiers from Anantnag's forest area. Remarkably, one soldier, although shot, managed to escape the attackers.
The Indian army's Chinar Corps in Srinagar had earlier posted on social media that, based on intelligence inputs, the army and Jammu Kashmir police launched a joint operation with other agencies on October 8th to counter terrorism. This operation, taking place overnight, resulted in one soldier missing.
These soldiers were abducted during a joint anti-terror operation by the army and Jammu Kashmir police in Anantnag's Konar Nag.
Officials report that the injured soldier was rushed to a hospital and is now stable. A massive search operation was conducted in the area to locate the missing soldiers.
This incident occurred in Jammu Kashmir on October 8th during the counting day, following an August encounter in Anantnag where two soldiers were martyred and three were injured.
