On Sunday evening, security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir heightened their alerts following sightings of several suspicious Pakistani drones near the international border and Line of Control (LoC) in the districts of Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch. According to officials, at least five drone activities were recorded, prompting extensive search operations.
Security officials reported that all flying objects entered Indian airspace from across the border, hovered over sensitive areas for some time, and then returned towards Pakistan. It's suspected that attempts might have been made to drop weapons or prohibited materials.

In the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, around 6:35 PM, army personnel opened fire using medium and light machine guns after spotting a drone in the villages of Gunia-Kalsian. Simultaneously, a drone-like object with blinking lights was seen near Khabar village in Teryath area.
Local authorities noted that the object came from the direction of Dharmshal village in Kalakote and disappeared moving towards Bharakh. In Samba district's Ramgarh sector, a drone was seen lingering around Chak Babral village at 7:15 PM. Another suspicious drone was observed advancing from Tain village towards Topa along the LoC in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district around 6:25 PM.

Following these incidents, the army, police, and other security agencies commenced a joint search operation. The search continued late into the night in suspected drop zones to recover any illicit materials or weaponry.
This series of events emerged just days after an arms cache was recovered near the international border in Samba district's Paloura village. Officials claim that this stockpile, which included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds of cartridges, and a grenade, was dropped via Pakistani drones.
