An encounter between security forces and terrorists has been ongoing since last night in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir. During the encounter, soldiers successfully neutralized a terrorist. Unfortunately, one soldier was also injured in the clash.
The encounter happened in Trimukha Top, Lolab Valley, Kupwara, close to the Line of Control (LOC) as the terrorists were trying to flee into the forest. The vigilant security forces surrounded them promptly.
Encounter in Poonch
Just the day before, on July 23, another encounter took place in the Battal sector of Poonch. Security forces pushed the terrorists back, but one soldier was injured in heavy firing and later succumbed to his injuries. The soldiers were on high alert during the incident.
Encounter in Kastigarh
On July 17, another encounter occurred in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, where two terrorists were eliminated. This encounter took place near the LOC in the Keran sector of North Kashmir. Prior to this, an encounter was reported in the Kastigarh area of Doda, resulting in a soldier being injured.
Attack on Army Camp
In recent months, there has been an increase in terrorist activities in Jammu & Kashmir, prompting the army to heighten their operations. On July 7, a terrorist attack occurred at an army camp in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir. During the attack, an army soldier was injured when terrorists opened fire on the camp. Alert soldiers at the security post returned fire, but the terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
