An intense encounter between security forces and terrorists occurred today (Friday) in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. By late evening, the forces successfully eliminated three terrorists, including a known Jaish commander. Earlier that day, another terrorist had been taken down, totaling three eliminations on Friday in Kishtwar. The Jaish commander has been identified as Saifullah.

Strategic Action by Security Forces in Kishtwar

The encounter between security forces and terrorists commenced on Friday afternoon in Kishtwar, leading to the neutralization of the threats. Security agencies continue exhaustive search operations with helicopter and drone surveillance.

For safety reasons, a search operation was launched in Udhampur district to locate three terrorists. Increased vigilance by security forces is also observed in Bhaderwah, Doda district, to monitor any terrorist movement across hilly regions.

Northern Command's Commander, Lieutenant General M.V. Suchindra Kumar, reiterated the commitment to counter-terrorism, as articulated via social media. A post by the Northern Army on X highlighted General Kumar's praise for the White Knight Corps' swift actions during the operation in Kishtwar. Lieutenant General Kumar affirmed, 'The Indian Army remains resolute in its dedication to keeping Jammu and Kashmir terror-free.'

April 1: Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan

On April 1, Pakistan breached the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, which was met with an effective response by the Indian Army. The response inflicted significant damage on Pakistan. Previously, in February of the same year, similar cross-firing incidents were reported in the Krishna Ghati sector.
