Jammu & Kashmir: Three Terrorist Supporters Arrested in Baramulla, AK-47 Seized with Ammunition

Three associates of terrorists have been arrested in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. An AK-47 and a substantial amount of ammunition were seized by the security forces.

In the region of Jammu and Kashmir, three individuals connected with terror activities have been apprehended. Along with their arrest, a significant cache of weaponry was uncovered. These terrorist affiliates were detained in Haripora, Baramulla.

From their possession, the security forces recovered an AK-47, a magazine, 13 rounds of bullets, a pistol, pistol rounds, a pistol magazine, and a vehicle. Additionally, other weaponry was seized as well.

The SP of Baramulla operation, Feroz Yahya, stated that these arrests came following a grenade attack. SP Yahya revealed an unknown faction had orchestrated this grenade attack within the premises of 163 TA. Thankfully, despite structural damage, no loss of life occurred during the explosion in an MI Room.

The investigation was intensified under UAPA sections and concluded with the apprehension of three individuals. Technological and electronic evidence insights played a critical role, concluding with the seizure of a grenade, an AK-series rifle, a pistol, 256 AK rifle rounds, and 21 pistol rounds.

Earlier arrests of three other affiliates linked with proscribed terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba/ The Resistance Front (TRF) had also occurred. Individuals identified as Ubaid Khurshid Khandey, Maqsood Ahmad Bhatt, and Umer Bashir, residents of Thokarpora Kaemoh, Kulgam, were detained. Security forces retrieved diverse weaponries, including two AK-series rifles, eight magazines, 217 rounds of AK bullets, five hand grenades, and two magazine pouches.
