Jammu and Kashmir's DGP, RR Swain, stated on Saturday that recent terrorist incidents in Kashmir are desperate attempts by terror handlers across the border trying to maintain their foothold following a severe blow to the terrorist infrastructure.

He declared a firm resolve to defeat the enemy forces and urged the public to verify and share terrorist-related information with security agencies to ensure the accurate targeting of operations.

Terrorists Target Bus Carrying Pilgrims

Between June 9 to June 12, terrorists launched attacks in the districts of Reasi, Kathua, and Doda. A bus carrying pilgrims was targeted, resulting in the loss of nine civilians and a CRPF jawan, with many others injured. A subsequent encounter in Kathua led to the neutralization of two suspected Pakistani terrorists.

'Those Who Rely on Terrorism Cannot Abandon It Easily'

'Assessing a threat involves understanding its severity and breadth. Challenges are emerging from across borders, and terror handlers have resolved to continue such activities. They see that the days of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir are numbered due to significant setbacks to their structure. Those who subsist on terrorism cannot let go of it so easily,' said the DGP.

'Handlers Send Terrorists to Keep Their Operations Running'

'Handlers are stationed across the border, continuing to send terrorists to maintain their operations,' shared DGP RR Swain during his visit to the Saida Sukhal village in Kathua district's Hiranagar sector. Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were killed in an operation here, which lasted more than 15 hours, and a CRPF jawan was martyred.

He discussed the ongoing search operations with police personnel stationed in the village, alongside the Additional Director General of Police for the Jammu region, Anand Jain. The DGP also visited the Hiranagar police station, addressing and commending the police officers for their role in the recent confrontation.
