Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, during its two-day working committee meeting, unanimously passed a resolution condemning the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Jamiat stated that the Pahalgam tragedy is tragic not just for Jammu and Kashmir but for the entire nation.
This proposal pays homage to the innocent tourists who lost their lives in the attack and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured. The meeting was presided over by Hazrat Maulana Syed Arshad Madani.
Terrorism Viewed as a Melignant Curse
Jamiat declared in its proposal that terrorism is a malignant curse, which goes against Islam's principles of peace. Therefore, it is every Muslim's duty to raise their voice against it and stand firm in opposition.
The organization praised the Kashmiri people's spirit of brotherhood, sympathy, and humanity. They not only ensured tourists' safety but also opened their home doors in tough times. Hotel owners provided free meals, and taxi drivers waived their fares, showcasing Kashmir as a symbol of humanity and beauty.
Announcing Full Support for Government Actions
The proposal demands that the central government swiftly bring the terrorists involved in this heinous attack to justice with strict punishment. Jamiat has stated that it will fully support any necessary steps taken by the Indian government against terrorism.
Jamiat also criticized those attempting to spread hatred in society after the attack. It emphasized the country's need to stay united against terrorism and reject divisive politics rooted in religion or community.
