James Anderson's 700 Test Cricket Wickets Record:
England's speedster James Anderson has carved out a historical achievement in Test cricket, completing 700 wickets. His landmark 700th wicket, taken on the third day of the Dharamsala Test against India, was Kuldeep Yadav.
Significantly, Anderson has become the first fast bowler to reach the Everest of 700 Test wickets. The 699th wicket was India's Shubman Gill, a noteworthy milestone claimed at the age of 41.
Speculation was rife before the series against India that Anderson would hit this historic figure. With 690 wickets before the series, he was finally given the opportunity in Hyderabad.
Playing in Visakhapatnam, he bagged five wickets, and then took a single wicket in Rajkot, though his performance was less impactful. He claimed two more wickets in Ranchi.
James Anderson's Cricket Career
James Anderson made his Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe at Lord's. Since then, he has played in 187* matches. Only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar has played more Test matches, with a record of 200. Anderson has also played 194 ODIs, taking 269 wickets, and 19 T20Is, with 18 wickets to his name.
