A heartbreaking incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district when panic over false fire rumors on the Pushpak Express, heading towards Mumbai, resulted in the death of 12 people. The tragedy struck when passengers jumped from the train in panic and were hit by the approaching Karnataka Express. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and extended wishes for the rapid healing of the injured.

The incident left 15 other passengers injured. It occurred near Pachora town, between Maheji and Pardhade stations, in western Maharashtra when the Pushpak Express was halted by chain pulling. At around 4:45 p.m., panic led passengers to leap onto the tracks, and they were struck by the Karnataka Express, which was traveling from Bengaluru to Delhi.

PM Modi Offers Condolences to Victims' Families

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed profound grief over this tragedy. Mourning the loss, he stated, "Saddened by this tragic accident on the railway tracks in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families, and I wish all the injured a swift recovery."

Tragedy Results in 12 Deaths and 15 Injured

District Information Officer of Jalgaon, Yuvraj Patil, confirmed that 12 passengers lost their lives and 15 others were injured in this calamity. According to railway officials, the Pushpak Express resumed its journey after only 15 minutes while the Karnataka Express continued after 20 minutes post-incident. Shocking images emerged showing a grim scene beside the railway tracks, with bodies brutally torn.

Aide Provided to 9 Injured Passengers of Train 12533 Pushpak Express

Severely injured passengers received a compensation of 50,000 rupees each, including five passengers:
