Rajasthan News:
After 14 months of continuous search, Jaipur police have finally succeeded in solving the kidnapping case of a young boy. They have arrested the kidnapper and safely rescued the child. Shockingly, the kidnapper turned out to be the boy’s mother's cousin, who is a head constable of Uttar Pradesh Police.
The accused, Tanuj Chahar, kidnapped the child and was living in the streets of Vrindavan disguised as a monk with a grown beard and mustache. He kept the child in a hut, performing religious rituals to hide his identity. Disguising themselves as monks, Jaipur police sang hymns and tracked him down to his hut in Mathura-Vrindavan, where they arrested him.
According to Jaipur South Deputy Police Commissioner Digant Anand, on June 14, 2023, a woman reported the kidnapping of her 11-month-old child, Kukk, alias Prithvi, in the Sanganer Sadar area. The accused, Tanuj Chahar, was known to the complainant and serves as a head constable in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Tanuj, along with four or five accomplices, kidnapped the child from his home. Due to the severity of the incident, police initially searched the police lines in Aligarh, but Tanuj had been absent from his duty and was subsequently suspended.
Since then, police conducted raids in several states, continuously searching for the accused and the abducted child. However, they found no clues, leading to a reward of 25,000 rupees for information on Tanuj's whereabouts.
Further information suggested that Tanuj had grown a beard and was living disguised as a monk in a hut around the pilgrimage routes of Vrindavan and the banks of the Yamuna.

Jaipur Police also disguised themselves as monks and sang hymns to reach the suspect. However, the kidnapper realized their presence and fled into the fields with the kidnapped boy in his arms.
On August 27, police chased Tanuj into the fields, eventually capturing him in the Surir police station area along with the child and bringing them back to Jaipur.
Interrogation revealed that Tanuj Chahar wanted to keep the child Kanha and his mother with him. He had put considerable pressure on the child's mother, but when she refused, he kidnapped her minor son.
After the kidnapping, Tanuj repeatedly threatened the child's mother over phone calls. Due to this vendetta, he was suspended from his job but continued his defiance.
Tanuj, serving as a head constable in the Aligarh district's reserve police line, was well aware of police procedures. Hence, he remained cautious during his fugitive phase, avoiding the use of his mobile phone and changing locations frequently. He grew a beard and at times dyed it white to change his appearance.
He also refrained from revealing his identity to new acquaintances, making it extremely challenging for Jaipur police to apprehend him.
