Rajasthan News:
Under the very nose of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, a suspect managed to evade custody. Deepak Singh, who was already on the run in a cyber fraud case, was apprehended by the cyber crime station police just the day before. However, he successfully gave the police the slip last night despite being handcuffed and under strict surveillance. Despite intensive police searches throughout the night and roadblocks set up across the city, the suspect remains at large.
The incident occurred last night at around 8:40 PM. Suspect Deepak Singh, who was on a two-day remand in room number 27 of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, was being interrogated. Once the interrogation concluded, the police secured him in one corner of the room. It was during this time, while officers were examining some documents, that they realized the suspect had vanished. Further investigation revealed the astute conman had unlocked his cuffs and jumped out of the window, taking advantage of the darkness to make his getaway.
According to police, the suspect, Deepak Singh, is from Kachhada, near Khandar in the Sawai Madhopur district, and was known for creating fake accounts for cyber fraud. He had been arrested by the cyber police only on Monday. Previously, in the same case, two suspects had been arrested, while Deepak Singh remained elusive, until his recent capture by the police.
Yet, as the cyber station is undergoing renovations and lacks a holding cell, the accused was held inside a room in the commissionerate. His escape from such a high-security zone, where senior officers, including the Jaipur Police Commissioner, often convene, poses serious questions on the effectiveness of police operations.
