An out-of-control car in Jaipur, Rajasthan, struck 10 pedestrians, killing 3 and injuring 7. The injured have been hospitalized. The outrage has prompted widespread protests in Jaipur, where locals are demanding strict punishment for the accused and compensation for the victims' families. Allegedly, local congress representative Ameen Qazi attempted to shield the accused, Usman.

During the protests, effigies were burned in the middle of the street. Meanwhile, the police have seized the vehicle and arrested the accused. According to police, Usman was intoxicated and driving at high speed when the accident occurred.

A CCTV video of the incident has emerged, showing a speeding car striking pedestrians as it barrels down the road. Before anyone could react, tragedy had struck, leaving 2 individuals dead on the spot, while a third succumbed to injuries later at the hospital.

Besides, the seven injured individuals have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. On another note, Usman Khan, the accused and a district vice president of Congress, has been detained by police. BJP leaders have accused local Congress MLA Ameen Qazi of attempting to shield the accused. Addressing these claims, Congress MLA Ameen Qazi stated he was the first to arrive at the scene to aid the injured and take them to the hospital, and criticized any politicization of the incident. He stated that regardless of party affiliation, the accused should face the harshest punishment, and assured action to ensure adequate compensation for victims' families through discussions with the district collector.
