An upsetting incident in Sakra village of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, revealed a 22-year-old man who killed a teenage girl after her mother refused his marriage proposal. This occurred early Tuesday morning.
The Accused Loved the 15-Year-Old Girl
Rakesh Raikwad, a local of the village under Patan police station jurisdiction, was in love with a 15-year-old girl. According to the police, he approached the girl's mother days earlier expressing his marriage intentions, but his proposal was declined due to age and caste differences.
Family members noted that Rakesh angrily declared he wouldn't let the girl marry anyone else. On Tuesday morning, he sneaked into the room where the teenager was sleeping with her elder sister.
Police report Rakesh attacked the girl with an axe. Her screams awakened her elder sister, but Rakesh had already fled the scene by then.
The family rushed the girl to the hospital; however, she died before receiving treatment. Fear and shock have gripped the entire village following the incident.
Body Sent for Autopsy
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived at the scene and sent the body for autopsy. Additional Superintendent of Police, Suryakant Sharma, stated that murder charges against Rakesh Raikwad had been filed, and search teams have been deployed for his arrest.
Authorities mentioned that Rakesh is currently absconding, but they are hopeful of a swift arrest. Additional police forces have been stationed in the village to prevent unrest.
