Israel's strikes on Iran have left a trail of devastation, precisely targeting top military generals and nuclear scientists. This surgical precision would not have been possible without Israeli spies residing in Iran. Realizing the magnitude of espionage activities, Iran has been on high alert since the onset of hostilities and initiated actions against the Israeli espionage network. On Wednesday, three individuals, accused of planning assassinations for Israel, were executed. Following this, Iran has launched proceedings against 47 Iranian nationals suspected of collaborating with Israel.
On Thursday, the Judiciary Chief of Iran's Fars Province announced that judicial cases against 47 citizens have been initiated, including charges of 'collaboration with Israel.'
This announcement followed a report by the US-based human rights group HRANA, highlighting that since the onset of the Iran-Israel conflict, at least 823 Iranians have faced charges relating to political or security matters.
According to HRANA, 286 individuals were detained for online activities, with many posting about Israel's attacks.
Executions Occurred on Wednesday
Prior to this, on Wednesday, Iran executed three individuals convicted of spying for Israel. According to Iranian state media, a total of six people have been executed for such offenses during the Iran-Israel conflict.
Iran released a statement revealing the identities of Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei, and Rasool Ahmad, who attempted to bring weapons for assassinations in Iran. After investigations found them guilty, they were executed.
With the onset of the recent conflict with Israel, Iran intensified its crackdown on spies. During the 12-day conflict, over 700 'Israeli spies' were apprehended. They were allegedly connected to Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, sharing intelligence with Israel to help target military sites.
The capture of such a large number of Israeli spies underscores how deeply embedded Israel had become within Iran. This highlights the prowess of Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, whose agents work closely with their adversaries, effectively quashing enemy plans when opportunities arise.
