Missiles were reportedly fired from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights towards military bases near the Syrian capital, Damascus. Syrian air forces managed to intercept some of these attacks. Following Israel's strikes, flights over Syria and Northern Iraq have currently been halted, and Iran has closed its airspace.
Israel Retaliates Against Iran's Strikes
Israel has been targeting Iran-linked sites in Syria for several years. However, following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, the intensity of these strikes has increased. On the same day, Iran launched a significant missile attack on Israel, which Israel swiftly countered.
