Israel-Hezbollah War: Israel, standing firm on the battlefield for a year, seems to be in a full-scale war mood now. A week ago, terror spread in Lebanon due to a pager-walkie-talkie blast, and immediately afterward, Israel weakened Hezbollah with missile-bomb attacks using fighter jets. Now, Israel has launched another major attack in Lebanon.

Israel has targeted and destroyed 1600 Hezbollah sites in Lebanon. Bombs have been dropped overnight. Reports suggest that 492 people have died in these attacks. Israel has warned of rapid escalations against Hezbollah and has advised Lebanese civilians to vacate areas suspected of hiding Hezbollah's weapons. IDF claims to have found heavy rockets weighing about a thousand kilograms in Lebanese homes.

Hezbollah Fires 200 Rockets at Israel

In retaliation, Hezbollah has fired 200 rockets at northern Israel. Cities like Haifa, Afula, and Nazareth in northern Israel heard rocket sirens during the night attack. Hezbollah launched rockets over the night. Hezbollah stated, “We have targeted several Israeli military bases and airports.” According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), most of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system, and no casualties or significant damages were reported.

On October 7 last year, Palestinian Hamas fighters suddenly entered Israel and launched attacks, leading to hundreds of deaths. Around 250 Israeli civilians were taken hostage by Hamas fighters to Gaza. In response, Israel attacked Gaza, aiming to eradicate the last Hamas fighter and declared the end of the war.

Many countries have called for restraint from both sides. Meanwhile, Lebanese militants (Hezbollah) in support of Hamas entered the fray and started launching rocket attacks on Israel. Israel, in turn, has ramped up its efforts to tackle Hezbollah, and a series of attacks have been witnessed in Lebanon over the past few days.

492 People Killed in Israeli Attacks in Lebanon

Monday marked the deadliest day of conflict in Lebanon since 2006. The Israeli attacks have killed 492 individuals, including 35 children and 58 women, and injured 1,645 people. Lebanese officials reported that this is the deadliest attack since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. Before the airstrike, the Israeli military had warned southern and eastern Lebanon residents to evacuate. Following the alert, thousands were seen fleeing southern Lebanon towards Beirut. Significant migration was witnessed, with many villages and towns emptied. Roads leading to Beirut from the southern port city of Sidon were clogged with vehicles.

Israel Warns to Evacuate Homes

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a message urging Lebanese civilians to take the warning seriously. Netanyahu said, “Please stay out of harm's way. Once our operation is over, you can safely return to your homes.”

Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that the military would do whatever is necessary to eliminate Hezbollah from the Lebanese border. Hagari claimed that Monday’s extensive airstrikes have inflicted significant damage on Hezbollah. He did not provide a timeline for the operation's end, stating that if necessary, Israel is prepared to launch a ground invasion of Lebanon.

Deadly Weapons Found in Lebanese Homes

Hagari mentioned that 1600 targets in Lebanon have been completely destroyed. Most of these attacks were on homes where Hezbollah had hidden its weapons. Among these were long-range cruise missiles, heavy rockets with 1,000-kilogram warheads, rockets with a 200-kilometer range, short-range rockets, and armed unmanned aerial vehicles.
