Advancing the Red Fort blast probe, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police's special team arrived at Wazirpur Industrial Area in North-West Delhi on Saturday. The agencies discovered that the primary suspect, terrorist Professor Omar Mohammad, visited this area before the blast. The pressing questions are: who did he aim to meet, and what was his objective?

Investigators disclosed that Omar arrived at Wazirpur in his vehicle and paused at a tea stall for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. However, he neither drank tea nor purchased anything. After a brief standstill, he left without uttering a word. This behavior flagged suspicion for the police, deeming each location and movement critical post-blast.

NIA and the special team have examined numerous CCTV footages in the industrial locale. Further, shop owner Pradeep Kumar, where Omar stood briefly, was interrogated. Pradeep admitted ignorance of the presence initially, providing all possible shop-related details to investigators. Pradeep conveyed that he initially didn’t recognize the individual.

The investigation suggests Omar's visit to Wazirpur had a specific purpose. Did he arrive to meet someone? Was a local contact awaiting him? Or did he conduct reconnaissance of the area? As of now, these questions remain unanswered, with police striving to match Omar's mobile location data to individuals in the vicinity at that time.

Comprehensive Technical Investigation Underway

Agencies are currently scrutinizing other CCTV footage, mobile tower data, and local networks in Wazirpur Industrial Area. The focal point is to ascertain if Omar was accompanied by another suspicious individual or attempted to establish a meeting. Although Omar's reason for being in Wazirpur is yet undisclosed, investigators deduce his every move linked to an objective concerning the blast, prompting exhaustive examination of activities in the area.
