MP News:

The case of an attack on a military officer and the gang rape of his female friend at the tourist spot Jamgate in Indore district has escalated. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and BSP Supremo Mayawati have targeted the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on 'X', 'The violence against two soldiers and the rape of their female companion in Madhya Pradesh is enough to shame our entire society. Law and order in BJP-ruled states are almost non-existent – the BJP government's negative attitude towards the increasing day-to-day crimes against women is extremely concerning. The criminals' brazenness is a result of complete administrative failure and the unsafe environment thriving in the country restricts India's daughters' freedom and aspirations. Both society and government should be ashamed and seriously consider – how long will they shirk the responsibility of protecting half of the nation's population?'

Lawlessness: Mayawati

BSP Supremo Mayawati released a statement on 'X', 'The incident of attacking two army officers, holding them hostage and the rape of their female friends at tourist spot Jamgate in Indore is extremely shameful. Such heinous incidents are spiraling out of control because the government is not taking them seriously. The government must pay attention.

The continued issuance of grand statements about women’s respect and security while heinous crimes humiliating humanity continue to occur with alarming frequency proves that the fear of the law has vanished, especially among antisocial and criminal elements. This is extremely sad and concerning.'

Nowhere Safe for Women: Priyanka Gandhi

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on 'X', 'The incidents in Madhya Pradesh where army officers were held hostage and a woman was gang-raped, and in Uttar Pradesh where a woman's naked body was found on the highway are shocking. Every day, 86 women in the country become victims of rape and brutality. From home to the outside, road to office, women are not safe anywhere. Not only is half the population unsafe, but due to such barbarities, millions of women lose their courage daily. The Prime Minister makes grandiose statements about women's safety, but women across the country are still awaiting serious efforts for their security. When will this wait end?'

Additionally, MP Congress President Jitu Patwari stated, 'The farmer, woman, and soldier - Madhya Pradesh has been turned into a graveyard for them. The incident of the army officers being held captive and the rape of their companion in Mhow is extremely distressing. Ironically, the soldiers who protect the country's borders are not safe in Madhya Pradesh today. What could be more shameful than this? Chief Minister has turned Madhya Pradesh into a land of crime where women, Dalits, tribals, soldiers, and farmers are all subjected to atrocities.'

Entire Incident

In the early hours of Tuesday night at 2:30 AM, at the tourist spot Jamgate in Mhow Tehsil of Indore district, two army trainee officers and their female friends were robbed. Not only this, there are suspicions that one of the female friends was raped. The police have registered cases of robbery, dacoity, arms act violations, and rape.

Investigating the entire incident in detail, Rural SP Hitika Vasal stated that two army officers along with their two female friends went for a stroll at Jamgate tourist spot at 2:30 AM. During this time, six unknown individuals took the army officers hostage and assaulted them at a deserted place half a kilometer away from Jamgate.

One army officer and his female friend were also asked to bring ten lakh rupees. The army officers and the woman somehow reached the main road and informed their senior officers.

Upon receiving information, senior army officers immediately notified the police control room. Taking the matter seriously, Bargonda police and senior officers reached the spot.

After investigating the whole incident, Vasal stated that two of the six perpetrators involved in the robbery were arrested from the Manpur area on Wednesday evening. Ten different teams have been formed to catch the remaining four accused.
