Panic ensued among passengers aboard an IndiGo flight on Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was reported. The aircraft, heading from Delhi to Varanasi, was moved to an isolation bay at Indira Gandhi International Airport for investigation. An airport official confirmed that Aviation Security, K9 squads, and Bomb Disposal teams arrived on the scene and thoroughly inspected the flight.

Following the bomb threat, the IndiGo crew issued an alert and requested passengers to disembark. Some passengers exited through the emergency gate while others jumped from the main exit. The Delhi Fire Service reported receiving the bomb threat at 5:35 am for the IndiGo flight bound to Varanasi. Their Quick Response Team reached promptly, evacuating all passengers via the emergency gate. A few alarmed passengers jumped out of the aircraft. Thankfully, all passengers are safe.

The aircraft was moved to a secluded part of the airport for inspection. According to an aviation security officer on site, before takeoff, the IndiGo crew found a note in the plane's toilet with the word 'bomb' written on it. The crew alerted the IGI Airport administration and evacuated the plane.

IndiGo stated in a release, 'Flight 6E2211 from Delhi to Varanasi received a bomb threat at Indira Gandhi International Airport. All necessary protocols were followed, and the plane was moved away from the main airport area as per airport security agencies' guidelines. All passengers were safely evacuated through the emergency exit.'

IndiGo confirmed the ongoing inspection of the flight. Once all security checks are completed, the aircraft will return to the terminal area. A senior CISF officer mentioned, 'A tissue paper was found in the lavatory of IndiGo's flight 6E2211 from Delhi to Varanasi, which had 'bomb' scribbled on it, prompting an inspection by security agencies. However, it turned out to be a hoax, intended only to cause sensation.''
