Major airports across the country are echoing with chaos and stress these days. The rush of crowds, the anxiety of passengers, uncertainty, and squabbles with the staff characterize the scene. The primary culprit: IndiGo's persistent flight cancellations and delays, which have derailed the travel plans of thousands.

No improvement was seen even on Thursday, December 5. Reports indicate that over 550 IndiGo flights were canceled on a single day, affecting both domestic and international routes. The airline cited operational problems, but for passengers, this translates to hours of waiting, inconvenience, and mounting frustration.

Several travelers stranded at airports shared that they were on vital journeys. Some were trying to reach their father-in-law’s funeral, while others were attempting to hospitalize sick mothers. The lack of flights has disrupted all of their plans. Passengers complained about inadequate information and basic amenities not provided by the IndiGo staff. Many have been at the airport since morning, and they allege that even water was not made available to them.

'My Daughter Needs a Sanitary Pad'

Amidst this turmoil, a video has rapidly gone viral on social media. It shows a distressed father desperately pleading with IndiGo staff, repeatedly yelling, 'Sister, my daughter needs a sanitary pad... she is bleeding.'

However, in the midst of noise and chaos, his calls went unheard. He kept shouting for help, but the staff failed to respond effectively. The video has sparked outrage on social media, with numerous users indicating that this situation highlights the difficulties faced by ordinary people in the absence of communication and amidst mismanagement.

People are questioning why IndiGo, despite being the nation's largest airline, is unable to manage operations on such a large scale? And why do ordinary passengers always bear the brunt?

Rahul Gandhi Questions the Situation

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi remarked in a social media post that IndiGo's failure is a result of the government’s monopoly model. He commented that it’s the average Indian who bears the cost in the form of delays, cancellations, and helplessness.

He further wrote that India needs true competition in every sector, not a monopoly where a few companies benefit while the common people suffer.
