Indian Railways has established war room monitoring to manage increasing crowds and improve services. According to reports, one train is running six hours late, while some special trains are delayed by 3 to 4 hours. The railways have set up this war room at Rail Bhavan to monitor the passenger influx during festive seasons.
This command center is reported to help officials promptly address congestion, passenger complaints, and potential incidents. Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shares insights on war room monitoring, stating that currently only one train is running six hours late, whereas some special trains face delays of 3 to 4 hours due to crowding. The Railway Board has issued orders for 76 stations, which will be designed by RITES.

Travel Impact: Over 10 Million Journeys by Special Trains
Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw disclosed that 12 million passengers have traveled via special trains. Compared to last year, this is 5 million more passengers traveling between Diwali and the Chhath festival. More special trains will be added to the timetable, with information to be shared soon.
Reserve of Over 10,000 Trains Ready
Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that additional trains are deployed immediately when crowds are visible. About 10,700 trains were reserved for potential use, out of which approximately 3,000 trains were kept on standby without reservations.
