India's indigenously developed 'Baaz' (Hawk) attack drone is ready for large-scale production. The army has transferred the complete Transfer of Technology (ToT) to private Indian firms. Now, these drones will be entirely 'Made in India' and will soon integrate into the military. The 'Baaz' was designed by Colonel Vikas Chaturvedi himself, exemplifying how military expertise combined with private sector efficiency can result in innovative indigenous technology.

Essentially, it's a single drone capable of espionage, attack, and supply missions.

Globally, drones have so far been limited to deploying small bombs or grenades. The 'Baaz' breaches new boundaries by being the first to carry and launch a full rocket launcher (such as RPGs or anti-tank rockets) from the sky. This capability allows it to destroy tanks, armored vehicles, or bunkers from afar. Cameras and weapon sights are linked, ensuring precision targeting.

A senior military official noted that the 'Baaz' is not just a drone but the weapon of the future. It can eliminate enemy tanks from 5-10 km away, keeping soldiers safe and the attack's origin concealed. Colonel Vikas Chaturvedi revealed it was crafted for soldiers risking their lives at the borders. Now, the drone evolves into both shield and sword. Baaz has proven that India is not just a buyer of drones but a maker of drones that command respect globally.
