Ceasefire Breach by Pakistan along LoC met with Robust Response from Indian Army, High Alert Issued

In an unprovoked act, Pakistani soldiers initiated firing on Indian posts late Friday night in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, along the international boundary in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources informed us about the incident.

The Indian Army Delivers a Strong Retort

Sources revealed that the Indian Army delivered a firm and resolute response to the provocation. Upon receiving reports of cross-border firing at an Indian post in Krishna Ghati, the troops stationed along the LoC swiftly engaged in retaliation. The brief exchange of fire, thankfully, did not result in any casualties.

Sources suggest that the ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces could potentially be an attempt to provide cover for terrorists trying to infiltrate. After the attack, a state of high alert was declared along the LoC.

The First Batch Departs for the Amarnath Pilgrimage

Security forces have intensified surveillance to thwart any potential infiltration attempts by Pakistani terrorists and are undertaking extensive area searches. This firing by Pakistani soldiers has occurred during the ongoing Amarnath pilgrimage in Kashmir, where over 4,500 pilgrims have arrived in the valley for the first batch's journey to the holy site.

Jammu and Kashmir's DGP, RR Swain, has stated that extensive security measures have been put in place for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage. The 52-day pilgrimage, commencing on June 29, will follow two routes – the traditional 48 km Nunwan-Pahalgam path in Anantnag and the shorter but steeper 14 km Baltal route in Ganderbal. The pilgrimage concludes on August 19.

Four Terrorist Attacks Occurred Between June 9 and 12

The Jammu region reeled from four terrorist incidents in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts between June 9 and 12, resulting in the tragic loss of ten lives, including seven pilgrims and one CRPF soldier. In an encounter in Kathua district, two terrorists were also eliminated.

Earlier this week, a prolonged encounter lasted over six hours in a forested area of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the neutralization of three Jaish terrorists.
