India's Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets are on the brink of becoming Super Sukhois. This upgrade will include indigenous technology, cutting-edge stealth technology, radar, mission computers, electronic warfare suites, cockpit layouts, and weapon systems. Notably, these enhancements will enable these fighter jets to rival any combat aircraft in the world.
Modern warfare demands a blend of human and autonomous weaponry. The plan is to equip 84 Sukhoi-30MKIs with Man-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) technology. This means drones designed for attack or surveillance will fly alongside these fighter jets. These drones will be controlled directly by the fighter jets.

This modernization offers the Air Force the advantage of sending drones for attacks or reconnaissance beyond the reach of fighter jets. Advanced autonomous drones or loyal wingman UCAVs will be integrated, enhancing surveillance capabilities at borders and increasing offensive power when necessary. The upgrades are being carried out by HAL.
