India launched a series of strikes on Pakistan from May 6 to May 10, targeting numerous military and terrorist bases, resulting in significant destruction. On May 10, a ceasefire was mutually agreed upon by both nations. Now, both countries are sending delegations worldwide to present their perspectives.
India is actively working to expose Pakistan on the issue of terrorism. Indian delegations have traveled globally to reveal Pakistan's actions.
In response, Pakistan has begun to follow suit. Starting today (Monday, June 2) until Wednesday (June 4), Pakistan has dispatched a delegation to the Russian capital, Moscow.
What did Islamabad reveal about the delegation?
Details about the delegation were shared by Islamabad on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan tweeted that, on instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a delegation will visit Moscow from June 2 to June 4, 2025. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Syed Tariq Fatemi, will lead the delegation.
The purpose of this visit is to present Pakistan's balanced response and responsible policy to recent Indian hostilities on global platforms. During the visit, the delegation will meet with Russian officials and engage with media and think tanks.
Friendship between India and Russia
The friendship between India and Russia is historic and has endured for decades. Both nations have supported each other through global instability. However, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has added new layers to this relationship.
In 2022, many countries imposed sanctions on Russia. In response, India accelerated its purchase of crude oil from Russia at discounted prices. Since 2025, India has been buying oil from Russia through the rupee-ruble trade mechanism.
