Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar highlighted on Thursday that India has garnered substantial international support following the recent Pahalgam attack. He mentioned that India's new embassy in Honduras has been warmly received, with the government there expressing clear support for India. Moreover, on May 7, India held Pakistan accountable for terrorism during a session at the United Nations Security Council.

Between May 7 and May 10, Foreign Minister also discussed India's military actions under Operation Sindoor. He clarified that Pakistan was forewarned about operations targeting terror infrastructure, not military bases. Ignoring sound advice, Pakistan faced a robust response on May 10. Those resisting were visibly subdued by the 10th, with satellite images revealing the extensive damage Pakistan sustained.

Jaishankar made it clear there will be no regular dialogue with Pakistan. He stated, "There is no conversation with Pakistan until terrorism ceases. Any talks will focus solely on terrorism." He also emphasized Pakistan must fully dismantle its terrorist frameworks.

A Major Decision on the Indus Water Treaty

Addressing questions on reconsidering the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, the Foreign Minister reiterated that India’s stance is clear and firm; the treaty will remain suspended as long as Pakistan supports terror activities.

Reiterating India's stance on Kashmir, Jaishankar said, "Any discussion on Kashmir will solely involve PoJK (Pakistan-occupied Jammu-Kashmir). We remain open to dialogue on this matter."

Comment on Trump's Trade Agreement Claim

Responding to US President Donald Trump’s claim regarding India's offer of a zero-tariff trade deal, Jaishankar explained that trade negotiations between India and the USA are ongoing and complex. It is premature to draw conclusions. He clarified that no agreement is finalized until every aspect is mutually agreed upon.

Jaishankar remarked, "India believes any trade deal should be beneficial for both nations. Until the process is completed, any comment would be inappropriate."
